These hookless wheels can be used with tyres from 29mm on as per ETRTO standard (2025 edition).
It can be used safely with Tubeless/Tubeless Ready tyres, but also with tubetype tyres.
Another key information here is the pressure. The wider the tyre, the lower the pressure. For safety reason, the pressure should never exceed the maximum recommended pressure.
On a 25TSS rim
- 4,1 bars/60psi maximum for a 29mm tubeless tyre.
- 4,7 bars maximum for a 29mm tube type tyre
These are maximum tyre pressures, but as recommended pressures, it should be reduced by 0,5 to 1 bar depending on the rider’s weight and riding conditions. These lower pressures (~ 3.5 bars) are more than enough with wide rims and tyres, will give more comfort and optimize power transfer while not adding rolling resistance as the tyre’s overall contact patch decreases as the width increases.
